“The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), was renegotiated under the pressure from the USadministration, arguing that the trade agreement had been unfair to the US economy and favorable toMexico. The aim of this work is to evaluate whether it was Mexico or the US, that benefited more fromNAFTA, using some economic indicators estimated through Input-Output models. We utilized the mostadvanced Multi Regional Input-Output technique and the most recent data from the World Input-OutputData Base. Our main finding is that the United States businesses benefited more from NAFTA’s trade andrules than Mexico did.”
